My name is Richard Carey, and I am a professional underwater photographer and diving instructor based in Dahab, Egypt. I have been a PADI Instructor since 2003, and moved to Dahab in 2004, working initially as an instructor with underwater photography as a hobby using a point and shoot camera. Later I bought a DSLR and housing, and took a job as a photographer and videographer in the Bahamas.
Returning to Dahab in the autumn of 2008, I am now a full time underwater
photo pro. My images have been published in several magazines including Diver and Coral Reefs,
used on television by NBC News and Associated Press, and in numerous adverts.
I am based in Dahab but will travel throughout the Sinai to photograph events and commissions. I teach underwater photography courses tailor made for any level of student, from PADI's Digital Underwater Photographer Speciality for beginners, through to advanced courses for those who want to get better results from professional level DSLRs. I also offer private dive guiding for photographers, with no tuition involved.
